GLIDEX® TRACK SWITCH LUBRICANT
Glidex track switch lubricant is a synthetic lubricant that is easily sprayed, poured or brushed onto the switch plates. It has an excellent capillary action to coat the bottom of the switch rail. Glidex is not water-soluble so it withstands wet weather extremely well. It reduces the torque required to throw a switch and increases the throw time. Additionally Glidex will not collect dust and dirt, so it doesn't pack up or harden. The unique formulation allows it to be used year round without the need to have a winter and summer formulation.

ICE FREE SWITCH® ANTI-ICING PRE-TREATMENT
Ice Free Switch is an anti-icing pre-treatment for track switches to melt falling and blowing snow, keeping track switches from freezing to -55ºC. Ice Free Switch produces a coating on the switch that will not allow the metal to freeze and in addition will lubricate the switch components. It incorporates technology licensed from NASA / AMES Research Institute that makes the fluid non-Newtonian, allowing it to remain in place even on vertical surfaces. The Ice Free Switch pre-treatment also works well in flange ways, door tracks, signal lenses, and other areas prone to snow and ice build-up.

ZERO GRAVITY THIRD RAIL ANTI-ICER®
Zero Gravity Third Rail Anti-Icer is specifically developed for the anti-icing of the electrified third rail. A coating is applied to the rail prior to ice or snow forming to prevent the rail from glazing, enabling continuous power supply to trains. Zero Gravity Third Rail Anti-Icer also incorporates technology licensed from NASA / AMES Research Institute that makes it non-Newtonian so it stays in place and prevents run-off. Static Zero Gravity Third Rail Anti-Icer has a very high viscosity, yet under the slightest shear, it will lower the viscosity so applications are easily applied at low temperatures.

Midwest Industrial Supply, Inc. also designs and builds Ice Slicer® custom spray systems - portable units to apply Zero Gravity Third Rail Anti-Icer from revenue trains. This eliminates the need to schedule slower moving maintenance vehicles on rail lines. Used by mass transit, people movers, and other equipment utilizing power rails.

FREEZE-FREE® FREEZE CONDITIONING AGENT
Freeze-Free freeze conditioning agent is both a proactive and reactive approach for handling railroad ballast. Applied prior to loading ballast into a railcar, Freeze-Free prevents the bonding action of water molecules from solidifying the ballast together during freezing temperatures. Railcars that have become frozen, due to being loaded without treatment, can be easily unloaded by applying the freeze conditioning agent to the top surface. Freeze-Free will work its way through the frozen ballast and break the ice bond. Ideal for derailment repairs in any weather.
